The CW’s Arrowverse Series Will Return In January 2021

Every television network has been impacted by the novel coronavirus pandemic. While The CW has lined up DC Universe’s Swamp Thing for a fall broadcast premiere, the traditional Arrowverse series will not return this year. Instead, The CW is looking ahead to 2021.

Via The Hollywood Reporter, The Flash and Batwoman will launch their new seasons in January 2021. Additionally, Superman and Lois will air on Tuesday nights alongside The Flash. However, Supergirl will be held for a mid-season premiere because series star Melissa Benoist is on maternity leave. DC’s Legends of Tomorrow will also premiere in mid-season, which is estimated to land between March and June 2021.

The lone Arrowverse series not on the schedule is Green Arrow and the Canaries. Katherine McNamara, Katie Cassidy, and Juliana Harkavy will headline that Arrow spinoff series if it goes forward. Via Deadline, The CW’s CEO Mark Pedowitz indicated that it may still go to series.

“They are very much in active discussions to see what we can do,” said Pedowitz. “I’ve had many discussions with Warner Bros, we have a strategy involved, hopefully we can pull it off.”
