The CW Will Redevelop The Lost Boys TV Series Pilot

Although The CW has doubled down on the Arrowverse, the network hasn’t given up on vampires. Via Variety, The CW is giving The Lost Boys a second chance to make it to series. During the last TV development season, The CW ordered a Lost Boys pilot that was inspired by the cult classic Joel Schumacher film. However, The CW ultimately passed on that iteration of the pilot. None of the cast members from the previous pilot are expected to return.

The new series will slightly update the premise of the movie. “A a mother and her Gen Z sons move to the seaside town where she grew up,” which turns out to be a haven for vampires. It also notes that the brothers will “find themselves on opposite sides of a mythological struggle.”

Veronica Mars creator Rob Thomas and Heather Mitchell wrote the previous Lost Boys pilot, and they will also remain attached to the new one. Additionally, Marcos Siega is slated to direct the new pilot and executive produce the series.
