Superman & Lois Sends Out an Open Casting Call For Teenage Actors

Superman & Lois Sends Out an Open Casting Call

Earlier this year, The CW revealed plans to develop a Superman & Lois series starring Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch. Now, an open casting call for the pilot episode has given us a glimpse of who the show’s supporting players might be. A new tweet from Hollywood North Buzz has the early scoop on key roles for two young actors. You can check out the flyer for yourself below.

Apparently, the series’ producers are looking to cast teenage characters named Matthew and Ethan. But as CBR notes, these might only be placeholder names until the pilot’s shooting script is finalized. Matthew is described as a “three-sport athlete” who’s “well on his way to becoming a physical specimen.” The casting directors also want him to exhibit an “aw-shucks attitude that somehow doesn’t seem dated.”

Meanwhile, Ethan sounds like he’ll have the looks of a “young Leonardo DiCaprio,” but with a dark side. He’s smart, but his volatile disposition has made him something of a social recluse, and so he spends most of his downtime playing video games. Any actors interested in either role must submit their video auditions no later than tomorrow at 9am PST.

Former Flash showrunner Todd Helbing is writing and executive producing the pilot. The show will depict the titular couple navigating their newfound responsibilities as parents to their son, Jonathan, who just made his debut in Crisis on Infinite Earths. If the network picks up the series, it may debut next fall.
