AMC Releases New Images From the Next Walking Dead Spinoff

Last weekend marked the end of Fear the Walking Dead’s fifth season. But fortunately, viewers have this weekend’s tenth season premiere of The Walking Dead to look forward to. AMC also has a number of new Walking Dead projects in the works. Via Deadline, AMC has just unveiled an early look at the second Walking Dead spinoff, with new photos highlighting the show’s young cast.

The new show doesn’t have a name yet. However, it centers on the first generation of survivors to grow up amid the zombie apocalypse. Alexa Mansour and Aliyah Royale are headlining the series, which also stars Nicolas Cantu, Hal Cumpston, Annet Mahendru, and Nico Tortorella.

Granted, the photos released today don’t exactly make the upcoming spinoff look unique from either previous Walking Dead series. Regardless, early promotional efforts have painted the show as something fresh. This summer, AMC released a trailer featuring voiceovers from the cast and concept art that teased several new locations.

These images come just as AMC is getting ready to share more details about the series at New York Comic-Con. The show’s panel will be held this Saturday, October 5. Presumably, this is where the title will finally be announced. The Walking Dead’s Chief Content Officer, Scott M. Gimple, developed the series with Matt Negrete. Kong: Skull Island director Jordan Vogt-Roberts helmed at least one of the ten episodes that comprise the first season.

The new Walking Dead series will begin airing in the spring of 2020. You can check out the new pictures in the gallery below, then tell us what you think in the comment section!
