This year, Netflix has been ramping up its slate of original sci-fi programming with the release of Love, Death + Robots, Stranger Things 3, and films like Io and I Am Mother. Now, Netflix is about to debut a new sci-fi adventure headlined by a fan favorite actress. The streaming service has just released the first teaser trailer for Another Life, starring Battlestar Galactica‘s Katee Sackhoff.
In the series, Sackhoff portrays Niko Breckinridge, an astronaut who leads a crew tasked with discovering the source of an alien artifact found on Earth. However, Niko’s journey looks like it will be far more harrowing. Her quivering narration in the trailer demonstrates her lack of confidence in the mission at hand. And given the blaring alarm in the background, the flickering lights, and panicked expressions, it’s hard to blame her. But if she falls short and the mission fails, then humanity itself may be doomed to extinction soon after.

Joining Sackhoff on the new series are Selma Blair, Tyler Hoechlin, Justin Chatwin, Samuel Anderson, and Elizabeth Ludlow. The show was created by Aaron Martin, who previously created the Canadian horror anthology series Slasher and served as a writer and executive producer on Degrassi: The Next Generation.
