Marvel Drops New Character Posters for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 6

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. makes its long-awaited return in just under a month. To build anticipation for the new episodes, Marvel (via TVLine) has released eight new character posters spotlighting the core members of the series’ cast.

The new posters carry an aesthetic similar to the previous cast picture that mimics Da Vinci’s “The Last Supper.” Each team member is bathed in neon colors and ready for action. After a year-long absence, it’s good to see Daisy Johnson, Melinda May, Fitz-Simmons, Yo-Yo, and Mack again. Plus, Jeff Ward seems to be settling nicely into his new series regular status as Deke Shaw.

Recent trailers have indicated that Clark Gregg is returning to the series in a villainous role. However, he won’t be playing the Phil Coulson we all know and love. According to TVLine, Gregg’s new character will go by the name “Sarge” in the upcoming season. They also revealed that the season premiere (which Gregg directed) picks up one year after the team bid farewell to Coulson on a sunny beach in Tahiti.

When we last left our heroes, the agents were on their way into space to locate the cryogenically frozen Fitz. At the beginning of season 5, Fitz willingly placed himself into suspended animation to help his teammates in the future. The character was tragically killed in the season finale during the battle against Talbot / Graviton in Chicago. Hopefully, the series finds a way to explain how they plan to rescue the frozen Fitz without drastically altering the timelines.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 6 premieres May 10 on ABC. You can check out the new posters in the gallery below, then tell us what you think in the comment section!
