A viral photo of a fan-favorite MCU character in Avengers: Doomsday may not be real. Over the last week, fans suspected a photo of Scarlet Witch actress Elizabeth Olsen wearing the costume of Doctor Doom’s witch servants on the film’s set was real. However, a new update seems to have debunked the rumor.
Scooper @MyTimeToShineH has now come out and debunked the rumor. “That is not real people come on now,” wrote the scooper. And just like that, it seems Olsen won’t be reprising her role in the film, and the alleged set photo is likely a fake. There have been multiple rumors suggesting Scarlet Witch will play a surprising part in the film. It should be noted that Marvel Studios has not confirmed Olsen’s return in the film at the time of writing.
Who is starring in Avengers: Doomsday?
Avengers: Doomsday is turning out to be one of the MCU’s biggest ensembles. The film will unite the New Avengers with the Wakandans, the Fantastic Four, and the X-Men. They will be joined by Chris Evans reprising his role as Steve Rogers and led by Chris Hemsworth’s Thor. Together, the teams will face off against Doctor Doom, played by former Iron Man actor Robert Downey Jr.
Directed by the Russo brothers, Avengers: Doomsday stars Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Paul Rudd, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Simu Liu, Florence Pugh, Wyatt Russell, David Harbour, Joseph Quinn, Lewis Pullman, and more. Original X-Men actors Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, James Marsden, Alan Cumming, Kelsey Grammer, and Rebecca Romijn also return.
It remains to be seen if Scarlet Witch will return from the dead in Doomsday. The character was last seen in 2022’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled to be released in theaters on December 18, 2026.
