An Avengers: Doomsday rumor reveals the winner of a reported Spider-Man vs. Wolverine fight scene. On August 23, Marvel‘s insider James Mack asked fans to submit their questions about the upcoming Avengers movie.
During the Q&A, @Dogenaaaan asked, “Does Tobey’s Spidey defeat Deadpool and Wolverine in their fight? I know his world gets destroyed, but does he at least put up a fight? How does the fight even go?” To which Mack replied, “I heard Tobey gets beaten up pretty badly by Logan.”
The insider’s reply indicated that Spider-Man would eventually lose the battle between him and Logan. However, the scoop did not explicitly state that Logan would win the fight. That said, this is only a rumor and should be treated as such until Marvel’s confirmation.
What else do we know about Avengers: Doomsday?
Mack’s scoop comes from the previously reported rumor that Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine would have an opening fight scene in Avengers: Doomsday. Moreover, it was reported that other Marvel characters like Green Goblin and Doctor Octopus would fight alongside Spider-Man, while Deadpool and Magneto would fight alongside Wolverine.
In addition to this, the insider MyTimeToShineH stated that Tobey’s Spider-Man and Wolverine would embark on a quest together in Secret Wars in search of “something or someone.” However, this should be treated as a rumor as well since it has not been confirmed by the studio.
Although the aforementioned fight scene is not confirmed, there are some confirmed fight sequences between other Marvel characters. For instance, Mystique and Yelena Belova will exchange blows as seen in the trailer. Other characters who get into a fight in the trailer are Shang-Chi vs. Gambit and Thor vs. Doctor Doom.
In recent reports, a Sentry vs. Doctor Doom battle was teased through a newly launched LEGO collection. However, Sentry’s “hero-moment” was trimmed down by the Russo Brothers, according to another scoop. Yet, he is reported to have a role in the final battle, and fans can expect a Sentry vs. Doom battle sequence.
Avengers: Doomsday is slated to release on December 18, 2026. Secret Wars will follow on December 17, 2027.
