‘Find a New Target’: Big Fantastic Four Star Defends Mark Ruffalo Amid Antisemitic Allegations

The Fantastic Four: First Steps star has come to Mark Ruffalo‘s defense following Paramount‘s allegations against him. Paul Walter Hauser, who made his MCU debut last year as Mole Man, took to social media to address those targeting Ruffalo following his public dispute with Paramount Skydance over its proposed acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery.

In a new Instagram post, Hauser pushed back against the backlash aimed at Ruffalo. “Focus on an actual harmful person, not the guy who everyone in Hollywood knows is hyper-intelligent, empathetic and talented. Find a new target, dude,” wrote Hauser in the caption.

In the image accompanying the caption, Hauser also wrote that anyone accusing Ruffalo of being antisemitic is “an actual moron.”

Mark Ruffalo pushes back against Paramount’s antisemitism accusations

After Paramount’s allegations against Ruffalo became public, the Marvel star wrote a lengthy post on X clarifying his stance. “The accusation that I am antisemitic is appalling and fundamentally dishonest,” wrote Ruffalo. “Criticizing the actions of the Israeli prime minister, a military technology contract, or the executives who supply it is not the same as criticizing Jewish people.”

Ruffalo added that the discussion was being “dishonestly framed” as anti-Israel. The Hulk-fame actor made clear that his criticism was not directed at Jewish people, and said that his views stem from his own political convictions. The actor ended the post with another call to halt the merger between WBD and Paramount over concerns of it being backed by “foreign money” that may influence editorial decisions in the U.S.

The dispute began after Ruffalo resurfaced a clip of Oracle executive Safra Catz discussing “really profoundly scary technologies” the company had provided to Israel after the Oct. 7, 2023 attacks. In his original post criticizing Oracle, Ruffalo called Larry Ellison a “classic oligarch.”
