Marvel’s Alien vs. X-Men crossover is here, and the preview shows Wolverine battling facehuggers and xenomorphs. In collaboration with 20th Century Studios, Marvel Comics is releasing the crossover issue later this year. This exciting news comes after the wide success of Alien vs. Avengers.
Ahead of its official release, Marvel released a preview of the Alien vs. X-Men crossover, which shows Wolverine in an intense battle with the aliens. Other X-Men like Emma Frost, Cyclops, and Kitty Pryde can also be spotted on the cover.
This issue has been illustrated by the acclaimed artist Geraldo Borges, while the covers have been designed by Ryan Stegman and Ivan Shavrin. The covers portray the aliens dominating the Children of the Atom as they engage in a gruesome battle. Alien vs. X-Men is written by the Immortal X-Men writer, Kieron Gillen.
The official description reads, “The X-Men went looking for a Phoenix egg. They found something else. The X-Men return to Earth with deadly cargo, and a violent battle between mutant and alien begins. Will an unexpected ally turn the tide in the X-Men’s favor? Will anyone survive the experience? The next evolution of Marvel’s mightiest mutants begins! Plus: A young Kitty Pryde faces her greatest nightmare when she’s hunted by two of the galaxy’s greatest terrors: the Brood and the Xenomorphs!”
What else do we know about the Alien vs. X-Men crossover?
In addition to the comic, the series will also feature a four-part bonus story by X-Men creator Chris Claremont. This bonus feature will pit the Xenomorphs against their own parasitic extraterrestrial creation called the Brood.
In an official statement provided by Marvel, Gillen expressed his love for the Alien franchise. The writer recalled that Alien was the first R-Rated movie he watched. The creator also added that the movie was “one of the four founding teenage films” that helped him shape his understanding of story structure. Moreover, Gillen stated that this collaboration is “prime-grade bucket list stuff” for him.
Claremont also gave a statement on the collaboration. He said, “For me, the coolest aspect here is returning to a universe where I can pit my deadliest alien predators against their movie counterparts, with Kitty caught in the middle. Kitty brings a hero’s perspective to the challenge that embraces the heart and soul of the X-Men. This story is cram-packed with adventure – plus some crazy surprises along the way.”
Alien vs. X-Men will be available for sale on September 16, 2026, and is available for preorder now.
