Black Panther 3’s Exact Release Date Possibly Revealed by Marvel Rumor

A new rumor suggests that Marvel Studios has quietly set a release date for Black Panther 3, signaling active development on the sequel. Filming is expected to begin in 2027, according to industry insiders familiar with the studio’s production timeline.

Black Panther 3 could get February 2028 release date

During an episode of The Hot Mic streamed on August 1, 2025, entertainment journalist Jeff Sneider stated, “Black Panther 3, that’s February 2028. That’s going to start production at the top of 2027. And that will be in theaters February 2028.” This timeline aligns with a previously announced Marvel Studios release date slot of February 18, 2028.

Sneider’s comments follow a March 2025 post by industry insider Daniel Richtman (@DanielRPK) on X (formerly Twitter), who simply wrote, “Feb 2028.” When questioned, Richtman clarified, “The date is for Black Panther 3.” These remarks sparked renewed discussion around the timeline of the third installment in Marvel Studios’ Black Panther franchise.

Black Panther 3 was confirmed by studio heads Kevin Feige and Louis D’Esposito, following actor Denzel Washington’s November 2024 statement that he would be part of the cast.

In a separate interview with ComicBook in February 2025, Black Panther 3 producer and former Marvel executive, Nate Moore, said, “We haven’t really had a lot of creative conversations with Ryan Coogler yet… We’ll get into it later this year.” Moore added, “Everything you read online is not true, if for no other reason than we just haven’t started [working on it].”

Despite not yet starting formal production, Marvel Studios has publicly acknowledged the project. Regarding Moore’s departure from Marvel, Feige and D’Esposito, in a joint statement, said, “Although we’ll miss him a great deal, we look forward to watching what he does next while also having the good fortune of working with him in a new way on our next Black Panther movie.”

Further, Moore confirmed his continued involvement, stating, “I couldn’t be more excited to apply my experience and passion for film towards theatrical movies in all genres, including returning to the world of Wakanda for Black Panther 3.”
