Disney+’s Hawkeye Series Begins Production in New York This Week

Now that major Hollywood productions are back underway in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, cameras can finally roll on Marvel Studios’ Hawkeye series. Over a year after it was announced at San Diego Comic-Con, the show will finally begin filming in the Big Apple this week.

The Verge’s Chris Welch recently found a “No Parking” notice declaring that certain Brooklyn streets will be off limits in the coming days. The notice also names Hawkeye‘s working title, “Anchor Point,” as the project that will be filming this week. The term refers to the spot on archers’ faces where they place their drawing hands before firing. You can check out a photo of the notice below.

It’s also worth mentioning that the notice lists Finger Guns Productions as the studio producing the venture. Last month, word broke that Disney set this up as a shell company, with several outlets speculating that it was somehow related to Deadpool 3. What’s surprising is that this news was reported two weeks before Marvel hired writers for another Deadpool film. Of course, it’s possible that the studio could have been meant for Hawkeye this whole time.

Jonathan Igla is acting as head writer on Hawkeye. Marvel previously hired Bert and Bertie and Rhys Thomas to direct different blocks of episodes for the series. The show will premiere on Disney+ in 2021.
