20th Century Fox Pushes Back X-Men: Dark Phoenix and The New Mutants

20th Century Fox announced today it has pushed back the upcoming X-Men movies, X-Men: Dark Phoenix and The New Mutants, and the studio has changed the release dates for five other films as well.

X-Men: Dark Phoenix, which was originally going to hit theaters on November 2, 2018, will now open on February 14, 2019. Picking up ten years after X-Men: Apocalypse, X-Men: Dark Phoenix finds the X-Men in a place they’ve never been before: National heroes! Written and directed by Simon Kinberg, the film stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Alexandra Shipp, Tye Sheridan, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Evan Peters, Lamar Johnson, and Sophie Turner.

Josh Boone’s The New Mutants has been pushed back a second time. It was originally scheduled to open on April 13, 2018, was then moved back to February 22, 2019, and has now been pushed all the way back to August 2, 2019. The cast for The New Mutants includes Anya Taylor-Joy, Maisie Williams, Charlie Heaton, Blu Hunt, Henry Zaga, and Alice Braga. Taylor-Joy previously confirmed that a new character will be added in reshoots.
