DC’s Legends of Tomorrow Adds Mr. Robot Star for Cold War Era Episode

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow adds another classic comic character to the cast

TVLine brings word that “Mr. Robot” star Stephanie Corneliussen has joined the cast of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow in the role of Valentina Vostok. For the series, the character is described as “a gifted and beautiful Soviet physicist who will stop at nothing to defend her precious ‘Motherland.’” The outlet goes on to report that the “Legends” will run across Vostok in an episode taking place “at the height of the Cold War” which will see The Atom and Captain Cold vying for her affection, so they can find out her true allegiance.

In the source material, Vostok was created by Paul Kupperberg and Joe Staton in Showcase #94. The character was a Russian pilot en-route to defecting to the United States when she ran across the disassembled Doom Patrol and was transformed into Negative Woman.

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow stars Victor Garber, Brandon Routh (“Arrow,” Superman Returns), Arthur Darvill (“Doctor Who”), Caity Lotz (“Arrow”), Ciarra Renee (“Pippin”), and Franz Drameh (Edge of Tomorrow), with Dominic Purcell (“The Flash,” “Prison Break”) and Wentworth Miller (“The Flash,” “Prison Break”). Newcomer Casper Crump is set to play the immortal villain Vandal Savage in the series along with Falk Hentschel as Hawkman,

Based on the characters from DC Comics, the new series hails from Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television. Greg Berlanti (“The Flash,” “Supergirl,” “Arrow”) serves as executive producer alongside Marc Guggenheim (Eli StonePercy Jackson: Sea of Monsters), Andrew Kreisberg (“The Flash,” “Warehouse 13″) and Sarah Schechter (“The Flash,” Pan).
