Empire Reveals Guardians of the Galaxy Covers, Nathan Fillion Cameo Confirmed

Empire has debuted the covers for their latest issue and Marvel’s next feature, Guardians of the Galaxy, has landed on the front. One cover features the titular Guardians while the other shows off the film’s bad guys in Korath the Pursuer, Nebula and Ronan the Accuser. You can check them both out below!

In other Guardians of the Galaxy news, director James Gunn first denied rumors that fan favorite Nathan Fillion, who previously teased a role in the film, would cameo in the film as the Nova Richard Rider. Though Gunn did reveal that Fillion does in fact have a cameo in the film.

An action-packed, epic space adventure, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits—Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Quill discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand—with the galaxy’s fate in the balance.

Written and directed by Gunn, the August 1st release stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Lee Pace, Djimon Hounsou, Benicio del Toro, John C. Reilly, Glenn Close, Karen Gillan, Gregg Henry, Michael Rooker, Vin Diesel and Bradley Cooper.
