Christopher Nolan Reveals His Favorite Zack Snyder Scene

Acclaimed director Christopher Nolan has revealed that he’s friends with Zack Snyder and spoke about what his favorite scene from one of Snyder’s movies is.

In a newsletter from The Hollywood Reporter (via DiscussingFilm), the outlet reported on which scene from a Zack Snyder-directed movie is Nolan’s favorite. Apparently, the filmmaker is a big fan of one particular sequence from 2013’s Man of Steel.

“The moment in Man of Steel where Kevin Costner tells young Clark that whatever his origin, he’s still his son puts a lump in my throat every time,” Nolan stated. “Zack is best known for his facility with iconic image making, but his casting instincts are second to none.”

Nolan and Snyder both have plenty of experience with movies based on DC characters. Nolan directed the Dark Knight trilogy with Christian Bale as Batman, while Snyder directed Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Zack Snyder’s Justice League within the DC Extended Universe. Snyder also helmed the film adaptation of Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons’ Watchmen.

Who starred in Man of Steel?

Man of Steel served as the beginning of the DCEU and introduced Henry Cavill‘s DCEU Superman. The movie starred Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Michael Shannon, Kevin Costner, and more. Shannon reprised his role in The Flash earlier this year.
