Sparks Fly in The Secrets of Dumbledore Character Posters

The Fantastic Beasts corner of the Wizarding World franchise often feels like immersion in a level of lore and quantity of characters too large to keep track of. So it’s helpful, and not just showy, that Warner Bros. just dropped over a dozen The Secrets of Dumbledore character posters telling us who’s who, who plays who, and who’s on who’s side. Via social media, the posters dropped in two batches: Dumbledore’s First Army, and “Grindelwald and his followers.” (The latter, apparently, have yet to adopt a cool team name.)

Mads Mikkelsen replaces previous actors Johnny Depp and Colin Farrell as Grindelwald. Firmly in his camp, we find Credence (Ezra Miller), Queenie (Alison Sudol), Vinda (Poppy Corby-Tuech), and Helmut (Aleksandr Kuznetsov). Jude Law’s Dumbledore and Eddie Redmayne’s Newt lead the opposition, along with Dan Fogler’s Jacob, and of course two of the franchise’s signature fantastic beasts. The group joining them includes Lally (Jessica Williams), Theseus (Callum Turner), Bunty (Victoria Yeates), Yusuf Kama (William Nadylam), and Aberforth (Richard Coyle).

Notable by their absences? Tina and Nagini. Rumor even has it the latter may not appear at all. Maybe we can blame rewrites. The franchise plan included five films originally. However, steadily decreasing box office returns may have inspired changes to wrap things up sooner.
