Evangeline Lilly Welcomes Kathryn Newton To Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania

It certainly looks as though Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is the next big MCU production to get underway. During an appearance on The Tonight Show last night, Michael Douglas confirmed that he’s heading to the U.K. in three weeks to start production on the upcoming sequel. But before cameras start rolling, the film’s two lead actresses are finally getting to know their newest co-star.

Evangeline Lilly recently took to Instagram to share her appreciation for Kathryn Newton, who’s playing Cassie Lang in Quantumania. She explained in her post that she recently had a phone call with Newton and it sounds like they hit it off right away. Michelle Pfeiffer, who’s also reprising her role as Janet Pym, also offered her own comment in praise of Newton’s casting. You can check out what Lilly had to say below.

Kevin Feige announced that Quantumania would introduce Newton as the new Cassie during Disney’s Investor Day presentation back in December. She’s replacing Abby Ryder Fortson, who played the character in both Ant-Man and Ant-Man and the Wasp, and Emma Fuhrmann, who took over the role in Avengers: Endgame after the film’s five-year time jump. Rumors continue to persist about whether the new movie will see Cassie adopt her own superhero persona like in the comics. However, nobody at Marvel is spilling the tea just yet.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will hit theaters on February 17, 2023.
