Black Panther Live Score Concert and Screenings Coming This Fall

The coronavirus pandemic may not be over, but live events are on the way back. Marvel fans may be particularly interested in the upcoming concert schedule of the Hollywood Bowl. Marvel’s Black Panther will be the first MCU film to be a part of the Hollywood Bowl’s live score screening series. The entire movie will be screened while a live orchestra plays Ludwig Göransson’s entire score in synch with the film.

However, this won’t be a one-shot performance. The Hollywood Bowl has scheduled three “Black Panther in Concert” events. The first will take place on Friday, September 10, with encore performances following on Saturday, September 11; and Sunday, September 12.

Live-to-score film events are fairly common at the Hollywood Bowl. However, those movie screenings are usually reserved for Disney flicks and Star Wars films. This year, “The Princess Bride in Concert” will take place on Saturday, July 31. On Friday, September 17, “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince in Concert” will be performed.

Additionally, John Williams’ traditional “Maestro of the Movies” concert series will take place on Friday, September 3; Saturday, September 4; and Sunday, September 5. If you’re looking to hear Star Wars, Indiana Jones, E.T., and other Williams themes, those are the events to go.
