Report: Jaimie Alexander May Be Back For Thor Sequel and Loki

During yesterday’s Disney Investor Day presentation, Kevin Feige shared new details about Thor: Love and Thunder, including the revelation that Christian Bale will appear in the film as Gorr the God Butcher. But it sounds like the film could also feature the return of a fan-favorite character from the first two movies. Deadline brings word that Jaimie Alexander will reprise her role as Lady Sif in the upcoming sequel.

Additionally, rumor has it that Alexander is making a guest appearance on Tom Hiddleston’s Loki series, which premieres on Disney+ next May. That series also debuted its first proper trailer during Investor Day, but Alexander was nowhere to be found. It’s not clear why Feige didn’t announce her involvement during his presentation. Regardless, it should be fun to see how she reunites with her fellow Asgardians.

Sif hasn’t been seen on the big screen since Thor: The Dark World hit theaters in 2013. Her character was memorably left out of Thor: Ragnarok. But this was probably for the best, since that film ended up killing off her and Thor’s allies in the Warriors Three. Alexander also showed up as Sif on two episodes of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., the last of which aired in 2015. Hopefully, her appearance in Love and Thunder will fill audiences in on what she’s been up to since then.

Despite her absence from the MCU, Alexander hasn’t had any problems keeping busy for the last few years. In 2015, she also began headlining NBC’s Blindspot, which wrapped up its fifth and final season back in July.

Thor: Love and Thunder will open on May 6, 2022.
