Seth Rogen Will Produce a New Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles CGI Animated Film

Back in 2007, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles headlined their first ever CGI animated film, TMNT. Now, the Turtles are heading back to the big screen courtesy of Seth Rogen!

Via Deadline,  Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and James Weaver will produce the upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot through their company, Point Grey Pictures. Nickelodeon has also lined up Gravity Falls veteran, Jeff Rowe to direct the film. Brendan O’Brian will write the script, after previously working with Rogen on Neighbors: Sorority Rising.

“Adding Seth, Evan and James’ genius to the humor and action that’s already an integral part of TMNT is going to make this a next-level reinvention of the property,” said ViacomCBS’ Brian Robbins. “I’m looking forward to see what they do, and I know that Ramsey Naito and her team are excited to take the Nick Animation Studio into another great direction with their first-ever CG-animated theatrical.”

Paramount Pictures will distribute the new TMNT film. The last time the Turtles were on the big screen was the live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows. However, that film under-performed and sequel plans were abandoned by Paramount and Michael Bay’s Platinum Dunes.
