Joker Will Return To Theaters For One Week

Warner Bros. Pictures has announced that Todd Phillips’ Joker will make one final round in movie theaters. It will return to theaters on January 17 for a limited one week run. The news coincides with the film’s 11 Academy Award nominations. Among them is an Oscar nomination for Best Actor for Joaquin Phoenix, as well as Best Picture, Best Original Music Score and Best Director.

“With the continued interest in Joker as a result of its recognition during this exciting awards season, we wanted to give audiences the chance to see the film on the big screen, whether for the first time or again,” said Warner Bros.’ Jeff Goldstein in a statement.

Phillips’ film has already had a strong run during awards season. Earlier this month, Joker nabbed two Golden Globe awards, including one for Phoenix and another for Hildur Guonadottir, for her original score.

Since its release, Joker has made over $1.06 billion at the box office against its meager $55 million budget. There have been rumors about a potential sequel, but nothing has been confirmed.

Joker is also currently available on Digital HD, Blu-Ray, and 4K Ultra HD Blu-Ray.
