Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Gets New IMAX and RealD 3D Posters

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away, the Star Wars saga came to an end. Actually, more specifically, the Skywalker Saga will end in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. However, before the conclusion arrives in theaters on December 20, IMAX and RealD 3D are dropping new posters for the film. The first new poster was revealed this morning by IMAX. It features the last of the Skywalkers, Leia, Luke, and Kylo Ren; with Rey also prominently featured in the front. It’s a very stylish image.

Additionally, RealD 3D dropped a Rise of Skywalker poster of its own. This one features the current core trio, Poe, Rey, and Finn. However, the classic characters are kind of marginalized here.

Naturally, sharp-eyed fans instantly recognized that this was a throwback to one of the original Star Wars posters from 1977. Rey is in the Luke Skywalker postilion, while Poe is in the Princess Leia position… but definitely not Leia’s pose!

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will hit theaters on Friday, December 20.
