Lucasfilm Shares a New Look at Keri Russell’s Star Wars Character

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker features several familiar faces, including Rey, Finn, Leia Organa, and Lando Calrissian. However, the final entry in the Skywalker Saga will introduce a few new characters as well. Chiefest among them is the mysterious Zorri Bliss, played by Keri Russell. Not much has been revealed about Russell’s role in the film. But today, Entertainment Weekly released a new image of her character’s masked visage. You can check it out via Instagram below.

As Star Wars has demonstrated over the years, people don’t usually wear helmets if they’re playing by the rules. And that’s what makes Zorri such an intriguing presence in the film. It also certainly looks like there’s another character in this photo. Because they’re shrouded in darkness, it’s difficult to make out who it is. However, our first guess is Oscar Isaac’s Poe Dameron, since he apparently has a history with Zorri. Russell shared as much while promoting The Rise of Skywalker at D23 this summer.

“She has a little bit of a checkered past and maybe some questionable morals, but she’s really an old friend of Poe’s,” Russell told Variety. “I think the entrance of Zorri is there to describe more of who he was, y’know, in a very intimate way and a familiar way, and the friends are sort of like, ‘What do you mean, you know him?’”

As for whether Zorri will still get along with Poe, Isaac simply insisted that “it’s complicated.” Regardless, he did divulge that the character doesn’t align herself with the Resistance or the First Order.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker hits theaters on December 20.
