Sony Opens The Daily Bugle Site To Attack Spider-Man

Spider-Man: Far From Home is in full swing with its home video release. Now, Sony has unveiled a new website that gives focus to one of the true heroes of its franchise – J. Jonah Jameson. TheDailyBugle.net has gone live, and fans can read up on stories revolving around Spider-Man being a menace. To no one’s surprise, J.K. Simmons’ J. Jonah Jameson is behind it all.

“The war on fake news has a hero: J JONAH JAMESON and THE DAILY BUGLE.NET! Where the tides of real news crash the shore of dangerous truth, the Daily Bugle will be there! Read the stories that the super-powers-that-be don’t want you to know! Stay informed! Be a real hero! Listen… to the BUGLE!”

It features a number of quotes from people affected by “the Blip,” as well as a story revolving around the “Night Monkey.” The main headline asks if this alternate take on Spider-Man is a “foreign hero or another masked menace?”

But the real treat here is a video clip once again featuring Simmons as Jameson, a role he’s become synonymous with since Spider-Man hit theaters in 2002. He hams it up as he calls out Spider-Man for being a criminal, while praising Mysterio in the same breath. “Don’t forget to like and subscribe!” Simmons playfully quips at the end.

This is the latest promotion by Sony for Far From Home. Previously, it released a special trailer focusing on Night Monkey, after Peter inadvertently got a new superhero name.

Spider-Man: Far From Home is available now on Digital HD. It will hit Blu-Ray, 4K Ultra HD Blu-Ray and DVD on Tuesday, October 1.
