Spider-Man: Far From Home Hits Digital With a Night Monkey Trailer

Sony has debuted Spider-Man: Far From Home on digital formats today. But the studio has chosen a unique way to celebrate his arrival. It’s debuted a new trailer that focuses on the film’s unlikely hero – the Night Monkey!

Of course, Night Monkey is actually Spider-Man, but it’s a fun joke that plays out late in the film. Night Monkey became a thing when Peter Parker’s best friend, Ned (Jacob Batalon) picked the name at random during the battle with the Fire Elemental. Ned claimed Night Monkey was a European ripoff of Spidey to keep Betty Brant from recognizing Peter as Spider-Man,

Spidey’s alternate suit was given to him by an associate of Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson). The costume completely encases him in black, with a stealth-like mask to boot.

The trailer is a bit on the brief side, running under a minute. But it’s a fan way to promote Spider-Man: Far From Home’s release. Of course there won’t be a standalone Night Monkey film, despite the advertisement. But since Sony has taken Spider-Man out of the MCU, it would be funny if the other Marvel heroes only referred to him as Night Monkey.

Spider-Man: Far From Home is available now on Digital HD. It will hit Blu-ray and DVD on October 1.
