Michelle Pfeiffer Plays With Catwoman’s Whip in New Instagram Videos

Last summer, Michelle Pfeiffer returned to the superhero genre when she played Janet van Dyne in Ant-Man and the Wasp. Of course, she’ll always be remembered for starring as Catwoman in Tim Burton’s Batman Returns. Plenty of fans would be thrilled to see Pfeiffer revisit the role. But since that’s not likely to happen anytime soon, they’ll have to settle for the next best thing.

In a new clip posted on her Instagram account, Pfeiffer showed off the whip she used in Burton’s second Batman film. The prop was looking a little worse for wear after 27 years in storage. Regardless, this didn’t deter Pfeiffer, who demonstrated her skills with the whip in another video. After nearly three decades, she still has what it takes to hold her own against the Dark Knight. Both of her videos can be viewed below.

Pfeiffer first joined Instagram back in January. To mark the occasion, she posted a clip from Batman Returns that featured Catwoman meeting Michael Keaton’s Batman and Danny DeVito’s Penguin for the first time. Her character was seemingly killed during an explosive confrontation with Christopher Walken’s Max Shreck at the end of the movie. However, the last shot of the film revealed that she actually survived the encounter. This gave audiences hope that Selina would return to menace (and possibly romance) the Caped Crusader in a future installment. Unfortunately, since Burton and Keaton left the franchise, this wasn’t meant to be.

Meanwhile, the last time we saw Pfeiffer in the MCU, she was crumbling to dust during Ant-Man and the Wasp’s mid-credits scene. With Avengers: Endgame right around the corner, it’s possible she’ll make a brief appearance in that film.
