The trailer for Vought Rising has arrived, offering fans a glimpse at returning characters such as Soldier Boy and Stormfront. However, viewers may notice a major difference in how Stormfront sounds in the new footage.
Stormfront, who is known as Clara Vought during the events of Vought Rising, speaks very differently from how she did in The Boys. Here is why the character sounds different in the spinoff series.
Here’s why Stormfront sounds so different in The Boys spin-off show
Stormfront, who was previously known as Clara Vought and Liberty, appears briefly in the Vought Rising trailer. Although her screen time is limited, fans may have noticed that the character speaks near the end of the trailer. However, Clara sounds noticeably different from her portrayal in The Boys.
There is a major reason for the change. During her time in The Boys, Clara Vought concealed her true identity and adopted the persona of a Portland hipster. As part of that identity, she also hid her German background. Because of this, the character did not speak with a German accent in the original series.
In Vought Rising, however, Clara no longer appears to be hiding who she is. As a result, she now speaks with a German accent, making her sound different from the version seen in The Boys.
The series will likely continue using the accent throughout the show. In The Boys, the character was revealed to have Nazi ties and used her superhero platform to promote racist ideology.
The Vought Rising trailer also featured Soldier Boy, who is expected to play a central role in the series. Other characters set to appear include Private Angel, Bombsight, and Torpedo.
The series stars Jensen Ackles, Aya Cash, Mason Dye, Will Hochman, KiKi Layne, Jorden Myrie, Nicolò Pasetti, Elizabeth Posey, Ricky Staffieri, and Brian J. Smith.
The show is scheduled to premiere on Prime Video in 2027. Meanwhile, The Boys Season 5 is currently streaming on the platform.
