Avengers: Doomsday could be the biggest superhero film since the acclaimed pair of Infinity War and Endgame, and there is still a lingering question about who could lead the Avengers in the new movie. It was not a huge question in the previous Avengers films because both Captain America and Iron Man were still a part of the team. But there have been many changes over the past years, and now it is hard to guess who will lead the team from the front. But here’s a list of five heroes who could serve as the leaders.
5 heroes who could lead the Avengers in Doomsday ranked from most to least likely
Here is a list of heroes who could lead the Avengers in Doomsday, arranged from the most likely to the least likely entry.
Sam Wilson’s Captain America
Sam Wilson’s Captain America may not have given the most exciting standalone movie, but he is still Captain America, and many things in the franchise have hinted that he will be the one leading the team forward.
Like Steve Rogers’ Captain America before him, he could evolve into a key leader in the coming battles and could end up being one of the key members to take the global threat down. Sam was also set to build a new team in Captain America: Brave New World, which further hints that the new Avengers team would be led by him.
Thor
Thor is among the most likely and the most deserving leader of the Avengers. The only original Avenger remaining in the team, Thor is mighty and experienced. He is also the one who could possibly deal with a global threat. Thor was also a key player in Infinity War and was the one who initially took down Thanos.
The character is also rumored to have the biggest role in the film.
Captain Marvel
Captain Marvel is also among the strongest superheroes around. She played a key part in the battle against Thanos, and could prove to be a key figure in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday as well. She has also been around for a long time and could prove to be a resourceful leader. Captain Marvel could perhaps join Wilson’s Captain America as a joint leader of the Avengers.
Yelena Belova
An underdog leading the line in the Avengers is genuinely an interesting prospect. Both Bucky and Yelena showed that they have leadership skills in Thunderbolts*, especially the latter, who also saw a generous bit of character development. As Yelena is one of the leaders of the New Avengers, she could combine her team with Sam’s team and be one of the leaders as well.
Reed Richards
While reports have already seemingly confirmed that the Fantastic Four figurehead, Reed Richards, will not be the leader of the Avengers, one cannot help but wonder if he could still put his strategic brain to work as the leader of the Avengers. His genius approach will surely be needed in the next big fight, and with Doctor Doom as the villain, Richards may be the protagonist.
It seems that Avengers: Doomsday will keep this a secret till the movie is near its release.
