Will Robert Pattinson’s The Batman 2 be delayed again due to Dune 3?

The Batman 2 has already been pushed to October 1, 2027. But fans think that Pattinson’s involvement in Dune 3 might lead to further delays. However, there are no confirmed reports as such about the movie experiencing another postponement.

In a conversation with Deadline at Mickey 17’s London premiere, the Tenet star earlier revealed that The Batman 2 will go into production at the end of 2025. However, a recent news report by Nexus Point News has provided an update on the delayed production. It claims that, as Pattinson would be filming Dune 3 this year, The Batman 2 will not begin filming “until early 2026 at the earliest.”

Director Denis Villeneuve has set eyes on Pattinson to add him to the upcoming Dune 3 roster, according to Variety. He is rumored to be playing villainous Scytale from Frank Herbert’s books. However, these reports are yet to be officially confirmed. Dune 3 is reportedly set to begin filming in July 2025, and the shoot will go on till the end of the year. It’s set to be released on December 18, 2026.

As for The Batman Part II, its plot and casting details have not been revealed yet. While the recent reports suggest a production delay, which fans think could potentially impact the release, there is still hope that the sequel will have enough time to film and release on its specified date in 2027.
