Hot Toys Makes Ahsoka’s Captain Enoch and Night Troopers

For the longest time, Imperial Stormtroopers came across as the least scary soldiers in all of Star Wars, thanks to their infamous inability to hit much of what they aimed at. Eventually, we learned that their predecessors shot better thanks to being clones of Jango Fett, and their successors in the First Order had better fight training. Classic Stormtroopers remained the red-shirts of the galaxy far, far away, though, until recently. That’s because the Night Troopers, as seen in Ahsoka on Disney+, turned out a little differently. With Hot Toys‘ new figures of them, you can get an even better look.

Gilded and Aged

With gold-patched cracks like Japanese pottery and the red fabric ties of the Nightsisters, these classic Stormtroopers have clearly been through it. And they can go through more — sometimes death itself will not stop them, as they can resurrect. Star Wars finally has its zombies, and they’ve made the most un-intimidating armor into something genuinely threatening.

Leading the Night Troopers, Captain Enoch looks even more unsettling, with his Mordred-in-Excalibur gold facemask embedded in a Stormtrooper helmet. Is he, too, a zombie, or something worse? It’s impossible to tell, but he clearly designed his look to creep us out.

Enoch features a cloth skirt and blaster, while the Night Trooper includes two guns and hand-wrapped red fabric ties. Both feature laser-etched metallic gold paint apps and crackle effects. Fully articulated bodies allow for poses as alive and active soldiers or shambling zombies reanimated by dark Nightsister majik. Don’t expect them to reveal any new secrets, as their helmets don’t come off to reveal any faces.

As of this writing, the creepy new troops and their leader are not yet available for preorder but should be very shortly. In the meantime, you can peruse a multitude of official images to decide whether or not a probably $250-ish price tag is worth it. Perhaps you might even catch a glimpse of another upcoming army builder from the same battalion…one to whom death comes naturally.
