A New Shredder and April Join NECA’s TMNT Movie Collection

One of these, fans expected. The other’s a bit out of left field. NECA‘s been celebrating the anniversary of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze with new action figures based on those particular movie costumes. With the Turtles and evil mutants all done, it’s Shredder’s turn. With saw-bladed helmet, gold trim, and new removable mask, he’s the same character, but slightly different in execution. But he’s not all. We did specify Shredder and April…

Fans expected April as the Bride of Frankenstein in the Universal Monsters/TMNT mash-up line. What surprised most, however, is that the figure bears the likeness of actress Judith Hoag, who portrayed April in the first film. This might seem to establish that the crossover universe features the movie Turtles. Which makes sense, since they look like lost Jim Henson creations.

Shredder will likely show up exclusively at Walmart, as the movie figures do. April as the Bride is expected to hit most online retailers when she arrives. NECA will make presale announcements soon.
