The Alien Xenomorph Gets Mezco’s One: 12 Treatment

It seems weird to think that an Alien action figure once became so controversial that it was pulled from toy shelves. Nowadays, every company from Hasbro to Hot Toys has taken a crack at the H.R. Giger-designed xenomorph. Indeed, it’s a toy shelf perennial, along with Predator — one of those classic monster designs that never feels old. But there hasn’t been a six-inch scaled version in a while, as more recent license-holders NECA and McFarlane worked in 7-inch. Enter Mezco, who’ve just inducted the xenomorph into their One: 12 Collective line.

Most figures in this style feature a base body underneath a fully tailored outfit. In this case, the body style is all-new and seamless for the most organic-looking xenomorph toy to date. It’s “designed with an internal skeleton armature that is durable yet highly posable.” Other features include a battle-damaged interchangeable chest plate, three switch-out inner jaws, open and closed eggs, chestburster, and two facehuggers. One of which can fit over the heads of most other One:12 figures. These figures may not generally be intended for play, but clearly Mezco wants fans to have some fun with them.

Preorder directly from Mezco for $100, or wait and see if it pops up at other online retailers, as expected. In the meantime, enjoy the full gallery below. Will it take a bite out of your bank account? Let us know in comments.
