Hasbro Shows Four Star Wars: The Clone Wars Figures for Lucasfilm 50th

Lucasfilm’s 50th anniversary has lead to some interesting Hasbro action figure promotions thus far. First they revealed realistic versions of Star Wars figures in the original Kenner paint schemes. Next came long-requested toys of pre-Disney Expanded Universe characters. The latest promotion for the history of the company features 6-inch scale remakes of 3.75-inch figures from the original Star Wars: The Clone Wars figure collection. To make them up-to-date, however, they feature realistic sculpts based on the live-action movie actors. StarWars.com debuted the images this morning as part of a larger feature.

So yes, anyone who has ever wanted versions of Ewan McGregor’s Obi-Wan Kenobi, Hayden Christensen’s Anakin Skywalker, or even Temuera Morrison as The Bad Batch‘s Echo in his infantry days — here you go. Rounding out the four is Clone Pilot Hawk, whose non-removable helmet precludes a likeness. Pre-Bad Batch-era Echo, meanwhile, allows for the first Revenge of the Sith-style ARC trooper in the Black Series. Though since all Clones look the same, he can technically portray any ARC trooper one chooses. Anakin and Obi-Wan, meanwhile, allow fans the opportunity to imagine the movie actors in their animated-style outfits. And who knows: in the new Obi-Wan TV series, they might wear these for real.

But whether they do or don’t, these figures make for a cool mashup of past and present. Expect to see them in stores later this year.
