Mezco’s One:12 Magneto Action Figure Looks Almost MCU-Styled

If you want to know how menacing mutant Magneto might look when he inevitably joins Marvel at Disney, Mezco’s new figure offers a possible taste. Whether Disney goes this way in the end or not, the design team at Mezco are clearly using a movie like formula. Namely: start with a literal recreation of the comic. Make it actually fit a human being. Then add piping, paneling, and texturing until it doesn’t look like just spandex tights any more. When we look at the Magneto action figure above, it seems to utilize all the same choices as Mysterio’s design in Spider-Man: Far From Home.

In another interesting touch, the sculpt looks like a cross between Rutger Hauer, frequently fan-cast in the role in the ’90s, and Ian McKellen, who actually got the role.

Magneto comes with some very cool effects pieces, including one of a disassembled gun. And it’s not just for looks: his magnetic power effects also contain actual small magnets.

Oh, there’s definite cinematic potential in that look.

Preorders for Magneto begin now, for delivery in the winter. Maybe by then we’ll know what the actual future cinematic plans are for the X-Men. The $80 figure comes with everything seen below:

Magneto, also known as Max Eisenhardt, is a powerful mutant who has the ability to control magnetic fields at will. Using his magnetic abilities, Magneto helps other mutants replace humans as the dominant species, as he believes in their superiority.
