11 Characters Marvel Studios Should Consider for a Female-Led Movie

#8 HAWKEYE

One thing that’s apparent from the Marvel comics is that a lot of names get shared and/or abandoned. For a while, the original Hawkeye Clint Barton wasn’t around, so a young woman named Kate Bishop, with just as much archery training as the original, took on the name and joined the Young Avengers.

Like Clint, Kate doesn’t have any super powers, but she’s highly proficient in archery as well as sword fighting. Despite not entirely believing in the use of trick arrows, Kate will employ them from time to time, but it’s her sassy attitude and antics that make her such an interesting character and the perfect counterpart to Barton.

Fans have been very vocal about Hawkeye getting the shaft in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Having only appeared in two films, and with much of his “Avengers” appearance being under mind control, he hasn’t really done much in the films. I’m not saying we should totally get rid of Renner in the role, but starting fresh with Kate Bishop as Hawkeye might be the best route.

Her home has appeared in two MCU films already, now we just need her. She who we mean on page 9!
