9 Things You May Not Know About the Iron Man Series

An aspect of the Iron Man series that often doesn’t get talked about enough is Paul Bettany as the voice of J.A.R.V.I.S. You probably know that the namesake for Tony’s AI is a reference to his butler from the comic books which means you know more than Bettany did at the time that the film was made. Bettany knew director Jon Favreau from working on the film Wimbledon when he was approached to provide a voice for the movie.
“I didn’t know I was in a superhero movie,” he said in an interview. “I really didn’t know what I was going in for because it was two hours in a recording booth. I went in and recorded with Jon Favreau, doing all the lines, recording them and went home and now I’m a f**king hero to my children. I haven’t even seen it yet.”
And in case you weren’t aware, the J.A.R.V.I.S. acronym stands for “Just A Rather Very Intelligent System.”
