Exclusive Preview – Hellboy and the B.P.R.D.: Old Man Whittier

This week, the world’s greatest paranormal investigator is back in a new one-shot, Hellboy and the B.P.R.D.: Old Man Whittier. Hellboy creator Mike Mignola is teaming with artist Gabriel Hernández Walta in a story that follows up on Hellboy: The Whittier Legacy. Let’s just say that Hellboy has run into problems with this family before, and he’s about to again.

Superhero Hype is proud to present an exclusive preview for Old Man Whittier, which picks up just as Hellboy and Catherine Whittier visit the home she apparently inherited from her kin. Walta also shared the following statement about the issue.

“I just wish I could travel back in time and tell my young self that he will have the chance to work with Mike Mignola…and on a Hellboy story, no less! I really enjoyed every minute I spent working on this project and I’m SO looking forward to having the chance to go back into the Mignolaverse again soon.”

“Different artists bring different things, capture different aspects of the Hellboy character,” added Mignola. “Gabriel got all the subtlety, the quiet—but also knows how and when to go big. This is an odd little story and Gabriel made it (I think) into something great.”

Hellboy and the B.P.R.D.: Old Man Whittier will hit comic book stores on Wednesday, June 29.
