Exclusive Preview: King in Black: Black Knight #1

Years ago, Dane Whitman was a member of the Avengers and fought alongside Earth’s mightiest heroes. But time takes its toll on all warriors, and perhaps on Dane most of all. Because of his family legacy, Dane is cursed to wield the Ebony Blade, an indestructible sword of great power. It also exerts a high price by overwhelming Dane with urges to kill and maim.

The Black Knight may not be the hero he used to be, but he will soon be called forth to face the forces of Knull in The King in Black. The God of Symbiotes has already overwhelmed most of the Avengers, X-Men, and the Fantastic Four. So what difference can one man make in the battle from half a planet away?

In Superhero Hype’s exclusive preview for King in Black: Black Knight #1, Simon Spurrier and artist Jesus Saiz put Dane back in action. However, the Ebony Blade is still messing with Dane’s head. That would explain his murderous impulses. But we’re still waiting for the explanation about Dane’s bedroom shrine to…himself.
