Marvel Will Reprint X-Men: Evolution Comics For the Show’s 20th Anniversary

Back in 2000, the X-Men‘s second animated series, X-Men: Evolution, debuted on Kid’s WB. Currently, the show has a home on Disney+ alongside the other two X-Men animated series.  But later this year, Marvel is celebrating X-Men: Evolution‘s 20th anniversary by re-releasing the tie-in comic book series.

Via Newsarama, Marvel will drop a new X-Men: Evolution collection in December that brings together the issues by writer Devin K. Grayson with art by Studio XD and Udon Studios. Although the issues have been on comiXology since 2018, this will be the first time X-Men: Evolution comics have been back in print for nearly two decades.

The animated series re-imagined most of the X-Men as teenagers in a modern setting. Only a few X-Men, like Wolverine, Storm, Beast, and Professor X were still adults in this re-telling. Magneto and Mystique were also allowed to retain their normal ages. Regardless, the series earned a fan following and lasted four season. It also featured the debut of X-23, Wolverine’s clone daughter, before she was eventually introduced in the comics.
