BOOM! Studios’ Mega Man: Fully Charged Comic Book Will Arrive In August

Nearly a year after Cartoon Network aired the last episode of Mega Man: Fully Charged, BOOM! Studios is teaming up with WildBrain Ltd. and Dentsu Entertainment USA for a new comic book miniseries based on Man of Action’s animated TV show. The series, also titled Mega Man: Fully Charged, will arrive later this summer.

Fully Charged comes from writers A.J. Marchisello and Marcus Rinehart, both of whom worked on the TV series. They have also written for Cartoon Network’s Ben 10 and Power Players. They will collaborate with artist Stefano Simeone, who previously illustrated IDW’s Rogue One and Star Wars: The Last Jedi comic adaptations.

The comic will run for six issues and follow Aki Light/Mega Man after his father, Dr. Light, gets kidnapped. Aki’s discoveries along the way will apparently rock the hero to his core. Additionally, Aki will also dredge up repressed memories of the human/robot war and once again encounter Dr. Wily’s Robot Masters.

“We are excited to see the expansion of the Mega Man: Fully Charged television series into comics, a medium we love so dearly,” said Man of Action in a statement. “AJ and Marcus have been with the show from the beginning, and along with Stefano are delivering a fantastic, slick looking and modern Mega Man tale.”

“Having worked on the Mega Man: Fully Charged television series, we’re honored to help usher this story from screen to page,” added Marchisello and Rinehart. “Man of Action’s unique take is a Mega-fan’s dream, and thanks to BOOM! Studios, that dream has come true.”

Mega Man: Fully Charged #1 will hit comic shops and the BOOM! Studios webstore in August. You can check out two different covers for the first issue and character designs in the gallery below.
