Wonder Woman 1984 Director Confirms Pedro Pascal as Maxwell Lord

There has been a lot of speculation, but now we know for sure that Maxwell Lord will indeed be in Wonder Woman 1984. The confirmation came from none other than Wonder Woman 1984 director herself, Patty Jenkins, who took to Twitter to welcome Max in the DC Extended Universe with an image of the character. Jenkins then tagged Gal Gadot, the official Wonder Woman film account and The Mandalorian star Pedro Pascal. Therefore, we have a pretty good idea who is going to play the character.

Created by Keith Giffen, J. M. DeMatteis, and Kevin Maguire, Lord made his first appearance in the comics in 1987’s Justice League #1. He was introduced as a conniving opportunist with a good heart, and later in the story he was influential in the transformation of the Justice League into the Justice League International in the DC Universe.

Plot details for Wonder Woman 1984 are currently under wraps. The story picks up with Gal Gadot’s Diana Prince after the events of the first film. Now, the indomitable Amazonian princess will lock horns with Cheetah during the Cold War in the 1980s. Gal Gadot stars alongside returning cast members Chris Pine, Connie Nielsen and Robin Wright, plus newcomers Kristen Wiig and Pedro Pascal.

The former Game of Thrones star is a versatile actor who can easily play both bad and good guys effortless and in a credible manner. His casting is a plus for the next installment in the DCEU.
