Exclusive Preview: Spider-Man: Life Story #4

What if Peter Parker’s life as Spider-Man unfolded across the decades in real time? That’s the premise behind Spider-Man: Life Story, a new miniseries by former Spectacular Spider-Man writer Chip Zdarsky and legendary Spidey artist Mark Bagley. Each issue of Life Story takes place in a single decade before culminating in the present. So far, Peter’s life hasn’t been free of tragedy. In this world, Peter married Gwen Stacy and thought he found a true partner in life. When that connection was torn away from him, Peter found a new life with Mary Jane. Unfortunately, the Secret Wars incident with Venom in the ’80s led Mary Jane to leave Peter while taking their two children with her.

In Superhero Hype’s exclusive preview for Spider-Man: Life Story #4, one of Peter’s old enemies reemerges and seeks out Ben Reilly, Peter’s clone. Meanwhile, the real Peter is facing Tony Stark, a man who barely resembles his Marvel Universe counterpart. This version of Stark never stopped making weapons, and he sided against Captain America during the Vietnam War. Now, Stark is looking to takeover Peter’s company at any cost, and even Spider-Man may not be able to stop it.

Here’s the official description from Marvel: “THE REAL-TIME LIFE STORY OF SPIDER-MAN CONTINUES! Spider-Man’s life enters the 1990s! The COLD WAR is no longer cold as PETER PARKER returns to a world gone MAD! But will he let that madness infect HIM and his family?”
