VisionQuest will reportedly pave the way for Marvel Studios to adapt another iconic comic series. The highly anticipated show is also expected to draw the curtain on the WandaVision story trilogy following Agatha All Along.
According to a recent report by Feature First, VisionQuest will not directly connect to the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, it will serve as the beginning of a new storyline that will loosely adapt the beloved Marvel comic book series, Avengers: The Children’s Crusade.
Written by Allan Heinberg and illustrated by Jim Cheung, Avengers: The Children’s Crusade is a miniseries that ran from 2010 to 2012. It featured the Young Avengers with a storyline that connects to the Scarlet Witch.
The Children’s Crusade story that could shape VisionQuest
Avengers: The Children’s Crusade centers on Wiccan, who loses control of his reality powers. He begins to suspect that The Scarlet Witch is his mother and decides to find her. Additionally, other Avengers and X-Men are also searching for her after what she did in the House of M event series. The story also involves Doctor Doom, who is trying to steal the Scarlet Witch’s powers.
Meanwhile, MCU’s Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda Maximoff) is presumed dead following the events of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Joe Locke’s Wiccan’s search for his brother Tommy (Ruaridh Mollica) appears to be a natural follow-up in the franchise. Additionally, the MCU is already developing a new X-Men team and will soon introduce Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom.
Feature First has also reported that a previous MCU character will make a pivotal appearance in VisionQuest. However, the identity of the character remains under wraps. The series will also feature the original Human Torch, Jim Hammond.
VisionQuest arrives on Disney+ on October 14, 2026, and will feature eight episodes. The series stars Paul Bettany, James Spader, Todd Stashwick, Ruaridh Mollica, and more.
