The Batman Part II filming is underway, and Cristin Milioti has just given a clear answer about her future in the sequel. The Penguin star addresses speculation about her possible return as Sofia Falcon in the upcoming DC movie.
Cristin Milioti was recently asked if there is a chance of her appearing as Sofia in Matt Reeves’ The Batman: Part II. During her interview with ComicBookMovie, while promoting her new horror film Buddy, Milioti answered, “There’s not a chance you’ll see me in it, sadly.”
However, she remains interested in returning to Gotham City. “But I wait. You know, I would go back to that world in a heartbeat,” the 41-year-old added.
The New Jersey-born actress played Sofia in HBO’s The Penguin, a spin-off series of Matt Reeves‘ first Dark Knight film. Milioti won a Primetime Emmy, a Critics’ Choice Award, and a Saturn Award for her performance as Sofia in the HBO series The Penguin.
Could Sofia return in a future Batman spinoff or sequel?
With her recent comments, it is clear that she won’t appear in the second instalment of Robert Pattinson‘s Batman movie. However, that doesn’t rule out her role returning in a future project.
In the Penguin’s season finale, Sofia Falcone is sent to Arkham Asylum after Oz Cobb exposes her involvement in the destruction of Crown Point. Locked up in a cell, she receives a mysterious letter from her sister, Selina Kyle, who is Catwoman in the original film. That sets the stage for a possible alliance in future projects.
For now, the reunion appears unlikely in The Batman Part II. With no current plans for a second season of The Penguin, the sequel acts as the next logical stop for Sofia’s arc. Meanwhile, Colin Farrell makes a limited appearance as Oz Cobb, while Zoë Kravitz’s Catwoman is not set to appear at all in the upcoming movie.
The Batman: Part II is currently in production, with a release date set for May 28, 2028.
