Marvel has launched a new project connected to their upcoming movie Avengers: Doomsday. The five-part Countdown to Avengers: Doomsday Official Podcast brings Iman Vellani and Frank Alvarez together to revisit major films from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The series offers a look back at related MCU projects leading into the next Avengers movie.
Countdown to Avengers: Doomsday official podcast begins streaming
The first episode of Marvel’s Countdown to Avengers: Doomsday Official Podcast is now streaming.
Released on August 27, the episode features Iman Vellani and Frank Alvarez as they revisit The Avengers (2012). It begins a five-episode series centered on movies from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Vellani and Alvarez use the first episode to look back at Loki’s machinations and the Battle of New York. They also discuss quotes from the 2012 film and examine the original Avengers team-up in relation to later versions of the team.
The podcast will move through four more MCU films in its remaining episodes. Avengers: Age of Ultron, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame are each set to receive an episode. The series will end with its Avengers: Endgame episode, which is scheduled for September 25. Avengers: Endgame Encore is set to receive a theatrical release on the same day.
Fans can watch the podcast on Disney+ and Marvel’s YouTube channel. Meanwhile, an audio edition is being released through Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and other podcast platforms. The series will also examine character arcs and themes from the selected movies that could carry forward into Avengers: Doomsday.
The next Avengers movie is scheduled to premiere in theaters on December 18, 2026. Joe and Anthony Russo are directing Avengers: Doomsday, with Robert Downey Jr. returning to the MCU in a new role as Doctor Doom. The film will feature characters from the Avengers, Fantastic Four, and X-Men franchises.
