A Green Lantern movie starring Aldis Hodge has found a streaming resurgence on HBO Max in recent days. This comes as the DCU series Lanterns has become a major hit on the platform.
Aldis Hodge’s Green Lantern: Beware My Power finds new audience on HBO Max
The 2022 superhero animated movie Green Lantern: Beware My Power has become a major success on HBO Max and holds the sixth spot on the streamer’s movie charts as of August 27, 2026, according to FlixPatrol.
Interestingly, Green Lantern, the 2011 live-action movie featuring Ryan Reynolds, also appears on the list, in eighth place. The other entries are Normal, Mother Mary, The Drama, Mortal Kombat II, Practical Magic, Sicario, Hall Pass, and No Sudden Move.

In Green Lantern: Beware My Power, Hodge voices John Stewart / Green Lantern, the character that Aaron Pierre portrays in Lanterns. The voice cast also includes Jimmi Simpson as Oliver Queen / Green Arrow, Ike Amadi as Martian Manhunter, and Brian Bloom as Adam Strange. Jeff Wamester directed the movie from a script by John Semper and Ernie Altbacker, who based it on the Emerald Twilight comic book story by Ron Marz.
Beware My Power didn’t come out in theaters. Instead, it premiered at the San Diego Comic-Con before releasing on DVD, Blu-ray, and 4K. Unlike Lanterns, which received glowing reviews from critics, Beware My Power garnered a subdued response. It currently has a 56% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Giving the movie a positive review, Sam Stone of CBR shared, “Maintaining a harder-edged sensibility and backed by an all-star cast, Beware My Power continues DC’s recent winning streak with its animated movies.” Stone later added, “More than just a cosmic odyssey, this is a movie with plenty of twists and turns that still finds room for engaging character development, and the cast is more than up for the challenge.”
