A new report by a Marvel insider suggests that Avengers: Doomsday would have two post-credit scenes. Moreover, these scenes reportedly would set up the next Avengers movie. It would also include three important characters.
Insider James Mack took to X and posted a “very hot rumor” about Avengers: Doomsday. According to the scoop, the Russo brothers want two extremely serious post-credit scenes that would set up Secret Wars.
Mack went on to write that the first post-credit scene would reveal that Loki is still alive, but without the powers he had in his series. The insider also added, “Yes, Loki dies during the movie.”
Moreover, according to Mack, the second post-credit scene would show Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine on Battleworld.
Responding to the Avengers: Doomsday post-credits scenes rumors, MCU fans expressed that they’re largely sick of Loki being killed off and then resurrected. Some want Loki to just be killed off once and for all, while others are now feeling “fatigue” from the character entirely, but the general idea that Hiddleston will once again die and be resurrected isn’t sitting well with many.
An X user, @VicVeil838, argued that killing Loki is only for a “hype moment and aura,” while @Marcari_Mike asked, “How many times can Loki die,” adding that he is completely over it now. Reacting to the rumor, @VipMoxley069 shared a Tom Hiddleston crying GIF, with the caption “Yes. Loki dies during the movie.” Meanwhile, another Marvel fan, @regalknight3, admitted to having Loki fatigue and suggested that Marvel should “just kill that dude off.”
What the rumored Avengers: Doomsday post-credit scenes could mean for Secret Wars
If the aforementioned rumors were true, Avengers: Secret Wars would introduce a change in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. A depowered Loki who survives Doomsday could be an important character in Secret Wars.
Although he would not have the powers he possesses, in the series he took on the responsibility of holding the timelines together. However, a depowered Loki could also suggest that he could be a variant of the God of Mischief rather than the same version seen in the series.
Spider-Man and Wolverine’s presence on Battleworld could suggest that they start off as adversaries. Battleworld is a patchwork planet created by Doom. This planet holds different realities and locations from the multiverse. However, the two Marvel heroes could eventually form an alliance to defeat Doom.
Comments under Mack’s post have also pointed out that the latter part of the scoop has been around for a while. However, since Marvel has not revealed the entire casting details, the presence of Maguire and Jackman in the upcoming movie remains unknown. Additionally, the entire scoop should be treated as a rumor since neither Marvel nor Disney has officially confirmed it.
Avengers: Doomsday is set to hit theaters on December 18, 2026. Secret Wars will follow on December 17, 2027.
