A new trailer has revealed that Lanterns will be getting a new HBO Max companion TV show. While Lanterns is scheduled to premiere on August 16, 2026, DC fans will also have Lanterns: The Official Podcast to watch alongside the series.
The trailer for the podcast series was released by the official YouTube channels of HBO Max and DC. The podcast, hosted by famous American TikToker Juju Green, will delve into a detailed breakdown of each episode of Lanterns. Green, aka Straw Hat Goofy, will be joined by cast and crew members to delve into key moments of each episode. They will also discuss where the story might lead in the following episodes.
During an interview with ScreenRant, Juju Green shared how it feels extremely surreal for him to be the host for the official DC podcast. He said, “It was very surreal to put that ink to paper and say, ‘Yes, we’re doing this. We’re gonna film multiple episodes. We’re gonna watch every episode, talk about every episode.’ It’s insane, man. And the talent that was there. The set itself is absolutely insane.”

What do we see in the Lanterns: The Official Podcast trailer?
The trailer for the show reveals that the show will help DC fans delve into the mysteries of the HBO Max series. Joined by cast and crew, Green will be exploring theories after the release of every episode.
In the trailer for the companion podcast show, Green shared, “Every week, I’m breaking it down with the people who made it. We got co-creators, executive producers, and writers themselves, Chris Mundy, Damon Lindelof, and Tom King. The cast is totally stacked, and so is the podcast guest list, top to bottom.”
“Every week, we’re taking the episodes apart. Every construction, every Easter egg. We go deep on these characters and what the show’s really about underneath the mystery, including the whole Hal and John dynamic. I am a DC guy. I know the lore. I know the deep cuts. I will absolutely over-explain what a Guardian is to you,” said Green in the trailer, reflecting on what fans can expect from the Lanterns’ companion show.
