Walker Scobell says Percy Jackson Season 3 is ‘the most book-accurate season’
While Percy Jackson Season 2 continues to release weekly episodes, the team is already in production for Season 3, which will adapt Rick Riordan’s third book, The Titan’s Curse. In an interview with The Direct’s Gillian Blum, Scobell offered enthusiastic assurances about the upcoming storyline.
“I think Season 3 is … the most book-accurate season we’ve had yet,” Scobell said, adding that the book is “perfect to break up into eight episodes, “ and he’s “been really happy with it.” The young actor also teased a major escalation in scale and intensity in Season 3, drawing a parallel to the jump between the first two seasons of Percy Jackson.
“Season 3 is like all I’m thinking about right now… And I love Season 2, but Season 3 just—Like if Season 2 brings Season 1 to a different level, I mean, Season 3 just brings Season 2 to a completely different level,” he shared. He predicts this upward trajectory will continue, adding, “If we get a Season 4, I expect it to build in the same exact way.”
Minor spoilers for The Titan’s Curse reveal that Percy’s motivation in Season 3 is deeply personal. After Annabeth is thrown off a cliff and presumed dead, Percy becomes singularly focused on rescuing her.
Scobell described this version of Percy as being “locked onto that specific goal.” The actor also outlined an intriguing character arc spanning the seasons, highlighting Percy’s struggle with impulsivity.
